One of my favorites is the husband coming down and saying he was feeling better after being sick and the parrot repeats him and he says that is not him . Then she plays a tape recording of him and he states "yeah that sounds like me ".
This is another old commercial from Garuda Indonesia Airlines. I don't know what the boy is singing about since I don't speak Indonesian, but he sings the song beautifully:
It's such a long thread, I really don't remember if I posted this before, but this is the one commercial I would unmute the TV for when it was in regular rotation.
The streaming on YouTube for this one seems to be problematic, unfortunately. Still funny, though. The last two lines are two great punch lines.
Also, although most people won't be old enough to remember them, Bob and Ray did a very funny series of commercials for Piel's beer. I gather the beer wasn't very good, but the commercials were so popular the Times would actually list what time the commercials would run.
I'm waaaay out of the teeny-bopper demographic, but I crack up every time they air that Macy's commercial featuring Justin Bieber. He just walks into various places (parking garages, hotel lobbies, etc.) and the grown men at counters, in elevators, etc. just scream and go into hysterics like teen girls. I'm sure the yelps and squeals are lip-synched, but it's simply hilarious.
I also liked the one (probably by the same ad agency) from a few Christmases ago that featured all the celebrities with Macy's endorsement deals (Martha Stewart, Jessica Simpson, Donald Trump, among others) acting as if they were the clerks minding the store as customers shopped.
