How do you decide which one you'll watch at the time it airs and which you'll watch later?
Our latest upgrade on our Direct TV took care of that problem. I can record two shows at the same time, plus you can still watch 'live' TV.
However, previously, it depended on the 'spoiler' factor. If one show (such as Survivor) could be potentially 'spoiled if we waited to watch it', while the other show would not have a spoiler factor, we would watch Survivor and record the other show for later.
It was truly sad, in the olden days before VCRs, to have to make almost daily choices on what to watch and what to miss. Of course, back then, you only had the three major networks to worry about.
How do you decide which one you'll watch at the time it airs and which you'll watch later?
That's actually a question my wife and I ponder quite often. Sometimes we go by the program length, if one is 60 minutes and the other 90 minutes we'll decide how much time we want to waste, I mean invest, at that particular moment. Other times it's a mental coin toss, heads or tails doesn't really matter. Then, there are those times when it's two shows we both love and all things being equal I let her decide. 34 years of marriage and it hasn't failed me yet, knock on wood.
I will dvr everything to watch later as I hate watching commercials. A dvr is the best invention of all time, imo
