Seeing they remade "Don't be afraid of the dark", after I discovered the original on youtube over a year ago got me thinking. Some of these failed boxoffice films would have faired better as a "Movie of the Week" instead. The change of pace on a weekly basis would be rather exciting don't you think?

Perhaps you're onto something, Runuova. I get to the movie threatre less than once a year, and I don't have cable or satellite TV, and don't watch movies on my PC, so I don't see movies very often at all. We can't be the only two people out there who would watch movies on network TV, Runuova!

I'm curious as to whether any other C-D'ers would welcome a Movie of the Week on network TV.

I just think the movie of the week concept does not fit in well for television these days.

A large percentage of the population just wouldnt sit through two hours-----the focus and concentration levels are not what it used to be.

Reality shows last a half hour to an hour and dont require full focus to follow a movie plot unfolding.
With cell phones, i pods, texting, and tweeting, the target audiences the networks are looking for would not be there for a movie of the week-----unless it was a constant barrage of transformers, fast and furious, and the like.

I recently heard that jennifer Aniston has over 10 movies that have grossed over 100million dollars. If this is true, I can assure you she had no real effect on the eventual outcome to start. I think she is the type of actress that would see greater success on the small screen. Ashton Kutcher is another strictly tv actor! There's that limbo between out growing a televison seris and becoming a big movie star, and I think a "Movie of the Week" could be that place.

This old fuddy duddy would love to see the "movie of the week" come back! I have no problem sitting for 2 hours watching a movie and have no iPod, tweets or texting that need to be done. Fond memories of having a movie every week to break up the monoteny.

NBC has some lame Walmart sponsored movie of the week that comes on Saturday nights. From the promos they look like bible school lessons.

ABC just showed all the Harry Potter movies up to the last one last month. I watched every Saturday night. It was a good change of pace and I finally got to see what all the hoopla was all about. Now I can't wait to see the Deathly Hallows II now.
