I know this show has gotten heavy handed with social and political issues, moreso than usual, but in last week's episode I was really moved watching Miranda deal with her frustrations with the pandemic-denier patient. The actress did such a good job, especially when Miranda was in the stairwell talking to herself.

I just want to relax when I watch a show not get the political narrative I already see all over many forums. Meredith waking up is going to be interesting. There is a lot they can do with that story line or keep ad nauseum talking about politics.

I called that, didn't I?? I was very happy. I still haven't deleted the episode so I can go back and get another dose of McSteamy.

Don't know how much longer I can take ANY of my regular shows if the political bs continues.

She's really excellent.
The writing on this last show seemed sloppy though. I want them to address social issues but to just try to cram it all in like that felt disingenuous.

SO GLAD the Meredith coma is over. And while it all drove me nuts, I did like the way Derek explained "the choice" -- how bodies get so tired and it's easier to choose rest/no pain versus continuing the fight/recovery.

I was an ER RN x 45 yrs...at least 15 in teaching hospitals. Greys does not represent what really goes on in ERs. It stopped doing so about 10+ years ago. Now it only makes sure it addresses social topics that are hot. The people still around from season 1 look haggard. Schmidt is morbidly obese. Please let this series die a decent death...soon.

I'm enjoying it...and only came to it recently.

I just started watching season 19, I'm not in love with it. I've watched 3 episodes, it just seems they just want to address current social issues. I hope it picks up for me. Anyone else think season 19 started slow and then picked up?

I have no problem with them addressing current social issues. Needs to be done, IMO. I'm just not connecting with any of the cast. Especially the new kids.
