The world was ready for Robin Williams.

Remember Lucille Ball?

Jonathan Winters was amusing, but he and Robin Williams on the same screen was a little too much. The couple friend of theirs was tiresome, as was much of the show after the first season.

Exidor, on the other hand, was hilarious.

2046? Why wait? I'll start right now! Mork & Mindy is Masterpiece Theatre compared to that piece of junk!

And all the shows were dumb, so it's insipidness didn't stand out as much as it does these days.
Are you KIDDING? In this day and age of hillbilly hand-pickin' storage auction pawn kings? Bearded backwoods billionaires busting up badger barricades? The Bachelor? Jersey Shore???

I think it only aired after Happy Days one time when it premiered on ABC but the show was the Thursday Night lead in during it's first season.

I was very young when Mork and Mindy was on...I'm not sure I ever saw the first season or so and I never did see the last season...but all I can remember about it is Mork. I mean, yah, I remember what Pam Dawber looked like and she was the "reasonable" one but all I remember is Mork, his shirt, the suspenders, his na no na no thing and how fricken hilarious it was for a very young kid like me and my brothers.

LOL, could be you're right.... I confess I've never seen any of those shows you mentioned so I can't really compare. Guess I should consider myself lucky?

Mork first appeared on "Happy Days" so that helped the spin-off "Mork and Mindy" quite I bit I think.

Mork and Mindy did well its first season, then it declined from the second season till the end because the show's creators tampered with it.
