Okay why don't they remake these timeless classic sitcoms instead of churning out boring comedies and endless reincarnations or murder and police shows.
Bat Man. The old Adam West show was just fun. Every week brought a new actor playing a villain and the cameos were fascinating. But who could play Bruce Wayne/Batman? Bat Man can be fun, its gotten so dark and melodramatic that the franchise is rapidly getting STALE.
Green Acres. This was a surreal comedy and hillbilly/cornpone antics seem to be in right now.
Maybe Tim Daly could be Oliver Douglas, Lisa Douglas would be a little harder to cast.
So whats everybodys take on it? Any other classic shows worth revisiting and updating?
If they remade Green Acres I have no doubt they would focus way too much on the hillbilly aspect and the show would be ruined.
I Dream of Jeannie might be a good one. It leaves the door open for the show to take almost any direction. Of course, they would have to work somewhere else instead of NASA haha.
I don't thnk they should try. They'll just ruin it. They should be coming up with new stuff that isn't junk. Too many no talents posing as writers and producers these days.
I can't even imagine what would happen if they decide to modernize classic TV shows....
The Brady Bunch: Step brothers and sisters forced to coexist in a small 3 bedroom home. Replace Alice with Alicia, the hispanic housekeeper. Give Bobby Autism. Jan is emo and has self inflicting wounds. Marsha is very sexually active and a teen mom by the end of season one. Gregg is homosexual. Peter is an a gang. Father is a chemistry teacher at a high school and mom works as a department manager at Walmart.
Aren't there enough remakes in movies? Creativity is at a premium in Hollywood as it is. Bad idea.
