I really don't get it. We're going to miss out on Lucrezia's third marriage, the capture and imprisonment of Caterina Sforza, Rodrigo's death and what happened to Cesare afterwards - I'm seriously confused as to what the point of cancellation is.

This Sunday is the series finale. I'm so ticked at this. Loved the show and the rich historical setting and costumes. Would love to have had several more seasons. But alas, quality programs are usually doomed.
Here's the brief story from MSNBC.

Was any reason given for the cancellation? I thought the ratings were supposed to be very good?

I read in the newspaper that despite the good numbers, the show was very expensive to make.

This is horrible.
What kind of twisted logic lead to this conclusion?

Every season they gained more audience.

This is my favorite weekly program, along with Mad Men.

I read that they may make a two hour movie to wrap it up.

Canceling this marvelous show was an extremely bad decision from Showtime. I don't want to hear it was too expensive to produce. Isn't that why we pay extra for Showtime? Kyle Chandler is no match for Jeremy Irons.

Clip:
The decision to end the series comes as Showtime is prepping another religion-themed drama,*The Vatican, starring Friday Night Lights favorite Kyle Chandler. The pilot, which reunites the actor with Showtime entertainment president David Nevins, hails from House's Paul Attanasio and Ridley Scott.
