1. I wished the family had a different name besides Huxtible. I thought that name sounded too different.
2. I wished they'd had the kids call their parents 'mama' and 'daddy' instead of mom and dad. I think most black people call their mothers mama and fathers daddy.

Yes, but I think they were looking to break away from your typical stereotypes. I mean, how many shows portrayed affluent African-Americans?

Exactly. Also, many of the names in Cosby were real life names of various people he knew. The grandfather was Russell--named after Cosby's brother. Clair's maiden name was Hanks, which was also Cosby's real world wife's maiden name. Etc. I'm not sure who was named Huxtable, but the odds are high it was someone he knew.
I liked the Cosby Show more than Good Times, but both were great shows. One interesting comparison though: I liked the Cosby Show more, but all the Cosby kids annoyed me EXCEPT Denise. On the other hand I liked all the Evans kids EXCEPT Jay-Jay.

What was annoying about the Theo Huxtable character?
I prefer the Cosby show. Although I liked the Jefferson's much better.
