I thought they all did extremely well under the time constraints. Did not like the first look Austin sent out or the weird vampire/Hasidic story, but he had some great pieces with "wow" factor. Michael is less innovative than the other two, but his clothes are pieces that I would actually wear, very well made & I could see them appealing to women of all ages. Mondo is simply Mondo. He may not be for everyone but he is hypercreative & never compromises himself. I was really happy for him to win at last. I hope Gretchen Jones watched this & cried into her granola.

I am shocked Mondo won as well. I cannot see his collection at Neiman's. I think Austin's style is completely Neiman's style.

michael was genuine when he said mondo deserved the win.

i agree. yes, mondo's personality is not something i'd want to be around alot-- but he really did deserve the top spot. i guess with this being the first PR All Stars, the judges and producers really wanted to get it right and have the best work win. austin would've been a sentimental favorite i suppose. i d like to know the behind the scenes chatter/deliberation

I didn't like Austin's collection. There was nothing in it I would wear.

Austin doesn't produce wearable fashion by the masses. And Neiman Marcus is selling to the masses.

(Everyone complains Michael's stuff can't be worn because the bra issue. Austin's can't be worn because it's strange.)

I thought Michael would win. But I'm glad Mondo did. I love how he creates his own fabrics by mixing patterns together.

Mondo's DIY "Rorschach test" came out fantastic. If they had come out lame, it would have been horrible. I loved the rorschach he created. I liked what little of Mondo I saw in the past, but I think his pouty "I am not happy" behavior showed his true colors.

Michael seemed like a really good person with a good heart. Austin was just too into himself, but I liked most of this stuff in the past. Their little gathering for a chat afterwards was kind of scary. Too many egos.

So - we got our PR fix. Now we have to wait till summer for the next season. One thing I noticed, these guys really didn't do a whole lot different than a bunch of new designers, except maybe they were a tad calmer because they had been through the Mood thing and the weird challenges. I will watch the summer show because I really miss Tim.

It's been fun watching with y'all. See you in the summer!

i pretty much agree, Hopes. i think austin's whole thing in a show is he's beckoning the audience to visit his showroom: "visit my showroom, visit my showroom" is his message over & over with every look that walks down. in that sense, he is successful. i hope he remains part of the fashion cosmos for years to come.
