Maks has had a few on-screen loves that didn't last much beyond the season. He was hot and heavy with Peta for a long time. Meryl is so young and innocent which is probably very appealing. Charlie has a girlfriend, but I haven't heard that Meryl has a love interest. She works so hard (so does Charlie) with skating since she was a toddler, competitions since she was 7, going to school, the Olympics and Worlds, and other competitions, going to the U of Michigan, touring with Stars on Ice and now DWTS. She needs to come up for air once and a while! Maks is so worldy and sophisticated and while Meryl has traveled the world, she's still sweet and naive...they'd make a cute couple. I hope they are falling for each other and that it lasts beyond the last TV dance.

It may have been something like love before, probably more likely just sex with a little passion but Maks IS IN LOOOOVE. I'd like to see Meryl fall for him too. She would be treated like a Queen and a rare jewel, I am sure. You can see it in his eyes, on his face. No matter what, I'm sure this will be a DWTS none of us will quickly forget, if ever.

I don't know if Maks was involved with Edyta. She's been married to Alec Mazo since 2007, and Anna Trebunskaya was married to Jonathon Roberts for a long time. Both of those guys are dancers, too, so maybe they do date a lot in their own professional circle. Maks was engaged to Karina, though. Steve Wozniak was going to be in their wedding!
I know everyone was talking like he and Kirsty Alley were involved, but she is 30 years older than he is. I just have a hard time believing they were together romantically. Maybe they were just good friends who flirted with each other a lot because that's how their personalities are.

It's so evident when he talks about her. I think it would be a good match. They are both professionals, and understand the time needs of their professions. So many relations with highly busy pros and less busy spouses end because the spouses don't live in the same world.
Didn't Maks date Erin Andrews when they were partners that one season too?
I love to see him with Meryl. He is definitely like a changed man compared to past seasons. I think they would make an adorable couple, and she could help keep him grounded. It seems they are very good at encouraging each other -- something very important in a long-term relationship.
Even if they don't end up together or continue their relationship past this season, I do hope that Maks finally gets the mirror ball trophy. If not him, then I hope Val and Danica get it. I think Val has almost becomes a better dancer than Maks.
