Didn't know Perry was going to be in it. Looked like he might play a good Oscar, while the other actor plays Felix a little over the top.

well, they have a huge legacy to uphold. The original play and then later movie was written by Neil Simon, the movie of course starred the legendary Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon as Felix and Oscar, then later the TV show starring the equally legendary Jack Klugman and Tony Randall which was one of those rare TV shows based on hit movies that actually also became a hit...but anybody remember the TV remake in the 80s with two black actors? It was like the black odd couple

I remember the black version. With Demond Wilson and Ron Glass. Didn't last long and I never found it funny

Sometimes a revived sitcom can be successful; it may be a generational thing as far as who may enjoy the new cast. For me, the original movie staring Matthau and Lemmon was the best. It's all relative.

It will have a good lead-in, right after Big Bang Theory. Grew up watching the original TV series, and just saw the still excellent film with Lemmon/Mathau. Never heard of the actor playing Felix - Thomas Lennon. Shame they didn't cast John Cryer from 3.5 Men -- he would have been great!

I hope they retain the arrangement for the theme song written by Neal Hefti, like not try to make some kind of updated hip hop or electronica version of it, the same, simple arrangement will work best

I think Thomas Lennon's best known role was short shorts wearing Deputy Dangle from Reno 911

There have been very few successful sitcoms in the last 10 years. Nearly every sitcom star from the era before 2004 that has tried to make a new sitcom has failed to reach the 4 years which is the minimum to have enough episodes to go into syndication. Matthew Perry will be trying for the 4th time to start a new sitcom. Of the six Friends stars, Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox are the only ones who have attempted to start sitcoms on network television. Jennifer Aniston makes movies, David Schwimmer largely does voice work for Madagascar films plus some guest appearances, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry do pay-TV series.

I like Matt Perry but I think this show will be a huge flop. The "Mismatched duo" concept has been done and overdone. he does not have a good track record when it comes to TV post-friends either.
