I wish they'd update the format from touching the deep and the frivolous for 2 min or less. And stop making them grin and joke. I prefer BBC World News because they don't "info-tain me". They go hard and tell you the unpleasant but vital info. Wish the networks did that again.
Apparently the previous big boss had decided to fire them, leaked it, which ticked off someone higher than him and was the straw that broke the camel's back...and cost him his job instead...

The Today Show has gone a bit off the deep end for the frivolous banter. I like it to a certain extent. That said, those are two opposite ends of the spectrum for news shows. Today IMO is more of "Entertainment News" now.
I'd actually like to see him take over "Morning Joe", although that would require renaming it "Morning Willie" and we know that's not gonna happen, although I guess they could change their lead sponsor from Starbucks to Viagra :-)
Oh, goodie. If anyone should be dropped it's that biased boob Tamryn Hall, but I guess the Today Show just can't help acquiring these loons from the MSNMC revolving door. And memo to the PTB over there: bring back the opening flourish/fanfare music; that wasn't the problem with the show.
I wouldn't miss Savannah Guthrie, either. I had enough of this grown woman's baby voice and vocal fry a week after she premiered....which is why I now watch GMA, and shouldn't give a fig about what happens there, anyway.
So I guess they arent going to be fired, although for the life of me I cant figure out how you would fire Willie but keep Carson Daly. Really?
Agreed 1,000,000%. He is just awful, why they continue to keep him at NBC is beyond me.
