America is dumbing down as we speak. There was a time we would flip by Jerry Springer and think, "Who in the world watches this?" Obviously, there is an audience for it or it would be off of the air. Same for a lot of the mindless garbage on TV. Sad, but true.
Am I the only one that seems to notice that television especially cable television, is stuffed full of redneck reality shows like Duck Dynasty, Pawn stars, gold Rush, and Ect....? How long is this trend going to last? I am not trying to bash any shows but im just curious about why these shows seem to be popular?
I did actually watch Duck Dynasty ONCE. There are so many cable channels I don't have a problem with them. I just don't watch them>
I read just yesterday that Bravo is waiting until 2016 to air the Real Housewives of NJ, (their highest rated show) when their "star" Teresa Guidice gets out of jail. That tells you right there what is happening to television.
I don't watch any of the shows you mentioned. The one reality show I enjoy is Survivor.
My husband mentions it all the time that good entertainment is very hard to find on regular television.
Bring back the Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Petticoat Junction! They're a real treat but you can't buy'em.
I do believe I saw Petticoat Junction DVD's in the bargain bin at Hastings this week end.
