The first episode aired June 1st. They chose 10 contestants, and the 2nd ten will be chosen June 8th.
Graham Elliot left and there will be guest judges each week:
Per Wikipedia: Season 7 of the American competitive reality TV series Masterchef premiered on Fox on June 1, 2016. Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi returned as judges. Graham Elliot left the show after 6 seasons.[1] His position isn't permanently replaced; instead, various guest judges will join Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi throughout the season. The guest judges include world-renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, and celebrity chefs Aaron Sanchez, Edward Lee, Kevin Sbraga and Richard Blais.
I'm not sure why they didn't hire a permanent judge since they knew since the end of last season Graham would be leaving. Maybe no judges with decent reputations wanted to be associated with the show.....
So far, the contestants seem fairly bland. No outrageous outfits, no witchy ones, no flamboyant ones....maybe they will come along in Part 2 on Wednesday....

I liked Wolfgang Puck last night. I was surprised he was actually part of the show instead of just a "taster". I'm thinking the guest chef option might work out okay, depending on the chefs they choose. I also like this season's crop of contestants. I kind of knew Bill was going to go first when he screwed up the potato pancakes so badly....
I didn't like that they're eliminating a lot of the tasting. And I still wonder how the lucky three that "look stunning" always taste good and those that look as if they "fall short" never exceed their expectations and actually taste great.
Also, if I had to hear Wolfgang Puck and Ramsay carp about how Puck condescended to "leave his restaurant to eat disappointing/mediocre food" I was going to hurl.
Christina adds absolutely nothing to the show - she simply repeats whatever Gordon says or states the very obvious. In fact, she is just plain annoying in her dress and her voice too.
But I thank God every day there is no one on there as offensive as Tommy (until last week).
Is anyone watching this season? I think the judges are really cruel. It's one thing to critique problems with the food (under-seasoning, overcooked, appearance, etc.) but their comments are just mean! I think they are trying to make people cry.
