Getting a lot of flack online about:

a) almost all white movie, then TV, cast being rebooted with almost all black TV cast
b) John Candy can't be replaced
c) Using retreaded actors/actresses that are trying to snatch onto a sit-com

A) many US TV shows are reboots from shows in the UK do you reckon they are yelling "those USA chaps won't have the right accent so the show will fail?"
B) hey I was a fan of John Candy too but gee whiz the dude has been dead since 1994 you mean to tell me NO new comic talent has risen since then?
C) I love Nia Long and I think Mike Epps is hilarious can't we just watch the first few weeks then decide if it is a flop? Good on them it beats doing annoying insurance commercials that most folks I know fast forward through.

Will you be giving Uncle Buck a shot? "Peace out inchworms".

I wont be watching it because primarily it wasnt something that needed to be rebooted anyway.

I also agree with "a,b,and c". I dont like rebooting all <insert race here> shows with all <insert different race here> casts. For example I would never want to reboot "Fresh Prince" with an all white cast.

The lack of originality is beyond nauseating. I am so sick of it.

Bernie Mac could have pulled it off, but pulling out random retreads like this is lame. I have no interest in watching this, just another blatant cash grab, especially since there already was a TV show based on the movie that basically was a disaster.

I never saw the other TV attempt of this but I'll tune in to see how it goes then decide if it worth watching. I like the fact it isn't a cop show we have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many of those on network and cable. I like the fact it isn't a reality show where the bleached blondes or the dark haired sisters are screaming at each other and calling each other filthy names. So it appeals to the family side of me I reckon not to mention I like to male & female leads.

They'd have been better off naming it something other than "Uncle Buck"

The premise is fine, but using the name "Uncle Buck" immediately causes comparisons, and.. There's normally no way to overcome those comparisons.

I agree it could have been named something else.

Where's the originality? Why is so much on TV a half-hearted attempt to rerun something from the past?

I know people that say Hollywood really isnt out of ideas, and that others are just overstating it...

...then you see stuff like this and have to believe that Hollywood hasnt had an original thought in quite some time...
