Take Airwolf for example. Generally, 1-3 is acknowledged (though there was that problem with the "family station wagon") and 4 is denied.
Or The Man from UNCLE in the 60's. Seasons 1 and 2 are accepted but Season 3 destroyed the show which Season 4 couldn't recover from.
Quincy went from a medical detective to a crusader (not sure which season the latter started in) and as a crusader, he very quickly became boring.
Sliders is fun up to Kari but after that, we-ll...........................
I just ordered War of the Worlds where I am only bothering with 1st season.
I suppose there are many, many TV shows that such a situation could apply to, there are probably very few shows that are great all the way through. In this time, however, where it is possible for one to buy the entire series, is there more of a compulsion to be a bit more selective?
ALIAS Seasons 1 and 2 are some of the best action/adventure TV ever made. The Season 2 finale was fantastic. Then the Season 3 premiere destroyed everything, and the show never recovered.
VERONICA MARS Seasons 1 and 2 were great. But it was never huge in the ratings, so the network started monkeying with it. Season 3 was okay, but a big step down from the previous two. (The crowd-funded movie was downright bad.)
The last season or two of THE GILMORE GIRLS … not bad. But the absence of Amy Sherman Palladino was really, really obvious.
DOCTOR WHO went off the rails two or three series ago. My wife and kids still watch occasionally, but the show has lost me.
MONARCH OF THE GLEN. The show should have ended when the monarch left the glen.
HAPPY DAYS. I loved the first season. I’ll still watch it. After that, no. It became a typical canned sitcom.
THE WALKING DEAD. I struggled to stay interested from about Season 4 onward. I think I finally gave up about midway through Season 5. It’s torture porn populated by idiots.
SONS OF ANARCHY. I think I made it through the end of Season 4 before giving up. There wasn’t a single sympathetic character on the show anymore. I wanted every face on the screen to rot in prison.
Lost in Space went downhill after the first season. Black Sheep Squadron went downhill when "Jeb" and "Pappy's Lambs" became characters Battlestar Galactica was terrible once they landed on earth in 1980.
JUSTIFIED. Some seasons were definitely stronger than others, but there was never a weak season and never a bad episode. Destined to become a classic.
BREAKING BAD. Not flawless. It had a weak episode or two, but still remains one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
WKRP IN CINCINATTI. No explanation needed.
FARGO. Still ongoing, but each season is self-contained. In my mind, it is in the running for best TV show of all time. Brilliant.
KING OF THE HILL. I still miss it. Remains one of the best TV comedies ever made.
One of the super big Executives at Nasdaq is a man named Connie Anderson. I see it on annual report and website. I have to laugh my butt off as come on naming a man Connie Anderson when Lonnie Anderson was the bombshell on WKRP is weird.

Yes! The first season was actually a fun science fiction show. After that, it became a campy live action cartoon.

Wasn't GALACTICA 1980 or whatever it was called actual a "sequel" show as opposed to another season? Or am I remember it wrong? But yes, it was terrible. No doubt.

If he's a "super big" executive at Nasdaq, then he's probably older than 40, and was likely named long before Lonnie Anderson was on WKRP.
I'm bingewatching seasons 2-5 of Homefront, and halfway through season 5, it feels as if it should have ended in season 4. It's no longer working for me that Carrie continues to live this life. And they've already signed contracts through season 8. Did any of you start and then get sick of Homefront?
Dexter (The first four are worth watching)
Homeland (I lost interest after the third season)
Entourage (The first three were decent)
