and than u see the rabbi's, and school teachers going to these houses..its just sickening
I saw the Dateline one with the rabbi. That was shocking. But they've also caught foreigners from India working on visas in Silicon Valley, that doctor from San Francisco, policemen, teachers, military personnel, etc. It's truly shocking, especially when they set the sting up in what is really not a large town and then get 30-40 men show up????? Are there THAT many perverts? That is what blows me away. I just find it so difficult to digest mentally. If you extrapolate those numbers out across the population.... oh my goodness..
Up here they post the addresses, photos and a description of the violation for which they were convicted. It never occurred to me to attempt to hurt these people, but I'd rather know who they are, and where to avoid them.
Personally, I'd rather see these bastards chemically castrated, and have them serve their full sentences.
I have mixed views on it. First let me share my experience of something similar. When i went home for christmas me and one of hte lads got drunk and made up female 15 yr old yahoo acounts and went to the UK Yahoo chat. Went to a music chatroom that was kind of girly and after aboyut 15 minutes i had 6 email with pics of guy with their bits out, cell phone number, house numbers, guys willing to drive to meet me, and that was without even saying anything but talking about music, you guys should try it, its sick. These people need to be stopped.
I think that show is great because it stops people (maybe) before they actually commit an offence, and i say maybe cause none of these guys are innocent and may have commited before.
On the other hand, we have female teachers caught sleeping with male students and they pretty much get away with it compared to guys sleeping with underage girls. The media in a way seems to make it into a shoch that a female teacher slept with a boy, bot in a way makes it sound good for the boy ? And as much as i joke and say i wish my female teachers were the same, in reality it really can mess their mind up.
I know two sexual offenders, one here in NM and one back home.
The one here is in a crazy situation, he was 19 and slept with his sixteen year old girlfriend and the parents went crazy, called police etc, long story short hes on the sex offenders list still, hes 29! Not only that but hes MARRIED with children to teh same woman!
THe other was in a child pornography ring, a big international one with millions of pics, dont know all the gory details as id probably throw up. He was put into hiding for helping the government!!! Thats a disgrace, yes he helped blow it open, but helped fuel it too!
I cant imagine ever being sexually abused as a child. Where would i be now? I can say one thing for sure, i wouldnt be working a job i love with a wife and two children i love. Id probably be an alcoholic or junkie in and out of trouble.
To me, paedofiles need to be castrated. THey need to be listed as sex offenders for LIFE, why life? Because that child will always be messed up for life, why should a paedo be set after 10 years to do what he wants ? If somebody was to kill a paedofile, oh well. Thats all i can say. Im all for forgiveness, but not whet you take a childs innocense like that.
On the other hand then you have obvious sickos like Michael Jackson who abuses children and gets away with it scot free. And everytime he gets away with it hes launched into hero status with his fans. And there is literally no public outrage. I know the man is sick, he need to be put in an institution for life, kept away from children. But because he has more money than the aforementioned sickos, its OK for him to walk. I hate the double standards of that. I have every CD Michael ever made, and when the first case broke, i watched and watched, and became convinced and threw away everything i had of him.
My opinions are strong and i know alot wont agree with me here, but there is absolutely no budging me on these opinions.
Many victims of sexual abuse don't get the counselling and help they need to stabilize their lives. Quite ironic when many of the sex offenders get treatment and counselling. The chances of a child sex offender repeating their crime is extemely high. Look at the one guy who kept a detailed list of all his victims. I think it ran into the hundereds.
The sentences handed down to these people are a joke. It's like another slap in the face of the victim and their family.
I totally agree with their picture, name and address being on a public register. I certainly don't want to move in nextdoor to one of these creeps eyeing up my child. As for the license plates I think that is a little too much and could incite onsight violence.
I'm all for the posting of people that have commited a sexual crime. Locally we can pull up the address, picture, age, age of when crime occured, age of victim and type of crime. I want to know where they are. Sad thing is these are just the ones THAT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT and turned into the police by the victim and/or their family. What about all of the ones that have not been caught, that fly under the radar, never have acted upon their "urges" but if given the opportunity might? Even if I know that there are no sexual predators that live in my area that have been convicted I still teach my kids common sense and safety and vigilant myself.
When I do look up to see the list I look at everything. Much like the case that BrianH mentioned if the perp was 17/18 and the victim was of the opposite sex and the same age I do wonder if it was a "date gone bad", girl was willing but parents freaked out when they found out, etc. Too many variables there. Then I see the one w/ the perp being 40ish male and the victim a female between 14-19 (or any young age) and then I know that is one to really take seriously.
As for these set-ups. I don't know. They had one recently here in another suburb close by and it really riled up the residents of that neighborhood. They were ticked that the show by using a house in their neighborhood w/ kids out and about attracted perps to their area. I can see their point. What if one of these creep-o's was headed to that house and happened upon a child that posed an opportunity for them? Then I also have to wonder about how many of these people have never really done anything but somehow got sucked into it? There are some creeps out there and heaven help me if someone should do something to one of my children or if I should see someone try and get a child or come upon someone harming a child. Hubby will be bailing me out of jail and I'll be on trial.
As for these teachers and their students. YUCK!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry that is just disgusting. I don't see how they even see that as appealing. And then when you see the pictures of some of these teachers, so not a prize at all. You'd think it would be a young teacher just out of college that was at least semi decent looking. Although we recently had one here locally that did involve a young new teacher and a student that was 18. The incident did not happen at school and reports were even saying that if they did not have the teacher/student relationship nothing ever would have been done about it.

Some actually drive for miles or even hours.. then when caught,say- oh we were just going to watch TV...and he has the Costco bulk condom pack in the car.. Did any one see the episode where the guy actually came in naked?

We lived in Garden Grove at the time Samantha R was kidnapped and killed-- I really think that once these men are caught and sent to jail they need to be left in the jail general population, if they think they are man enough to rape and kill a child then I do belive it is pretty clear that they are man enough to defend themselves among the GP. I truly do believe with all my heart that a sexual preditor out of all the criminals out there-- is the one that cannot ever be reformed or changed, ever.
Go to Criminal Library.com you can read up on them, they strike everyday and some of these preditors are actually protected by their parents. Sick.
