Yes, it killed one of my favorite shows at the time, Life. Incredible ensemble cast--Damian Lewis, Sarah Shahi, Adam Arkin, Donal Logue, Robin Weigert, Titus Welliver, Garret Dillahunt, Gabrielle Union, and... Christina Hendricks. Imagine the cost to get that group together now.
The writer's strike killed half of the first season, and many of the lead writers left after that. There was a shortened second season, with a different group of writers, but the magic was gone, and ratings never returned.
