Seeing as the show opened with a probationary firefighter stealing a fire department truck to have sex in on a city street and he was not immediately jailed or even fired on the spot I think they signaled to us that this was not going to be Jack Webb's Emergency!

Well, I say that because it really gives a false picture of communications operations, and like with police shows, people believe it.

Yes, I did! I was thinking the same thing.....they live in THAT neighborhood???

I understand what you mean but I see enough reality every day LOL. I don't mind watching firefighters in fake L.A. scenes (or Austin TX) and made up stories. It takes my mind off real life for a bit.

If I want reality I watch the ID Channel or maybe A&E- well they don't have Live PD anymore but was a fan of that show.

It amazes me with all the animosity towards police that we have so many shows. Current and on syndication.
I kind of thought that too when I first started watching.

More of the show's story lines involve fire and rescue than police. Angela Basset's character is the only police officer.

This show, along with the Austin stablemate, both need one more cop in my opinion, yes the Sergeant rides alone in LAPD but the character has no regular interaction except with her husband's fire department company.

I'm about 5 eps behind, so I have to catch up, but this show's one of my faves that I've been watching since day 1. It better not get canceled anytime soon!

Say what you will about the out-of-this-world scenarios for which this show has become famous, those last 2 episodes were pretty gripping. Oliver Stark did a hell of a job.
