Getting ready to go watch an episode or two. I've heard E2 is earthshaking, so maybe I'll watch two.
I'm not much of a binger. I've never been able to grasp how people watch a series in a day or two. I can do one or two episodes at a time. That's it. I just watched the first season of The Umbrella Academy, 10 eps, took me two weeks.
I was surprised to see season 5 was on when I was scrolling searching for something to watch, I'm already on episode 7 only one more to go. Too few episodes for my taste especially if it's really the final season, which it doesn't feel like it is so far.
Watched the first two. Wow, did not see that coming.

This is not the final season.
This is Season Five, which has 16 episodes. They are showing 8 of them now, and the other 8 next year (2021). So it is a split-season.
Then we get Season Six, which is the final season. It will be sometime in 2022.

I'm not surprised it continues, I knew it didn't feel like it was anywhere near the end and after that finale for these 8 episodes, that's confirmed. And what a fabulous finale it was.
I feel like we have explained this 26 times over the past several months
But what about Season 7?
To be fair, Netflix and the show runners went back and forth and around about whether there would be any more seasons, one more season, a split season or (effectively) three more seasons.
For the record, I don't regard two groups of episodes months or even a year apart as "one season."
