Yep, we just got the back half of S5, eight new episodes.
And sometime next year, we will get the final season, S6. Ten new episodes.
So I was bored and watched S1E1 of Lucifer. So. Much. Fun.
Dennis Haysbert in the role of God was a great casting choice! I've enjoyed his acting for years, in films and shows and think he will be excellent in the role as "Dad". I was happy to see him.
Why couldn’t the angels bring Dan back? They did it all the time on Supernatural. I know, different show. But they did have Chuck/God in this one. Ha! But I’m wondering since Dan isn’t in heaven, if that will be the plotline for next season, to get Dan out of hell. I hope we haven’t seen the last of him.
And just when I was beginning to think the actress who plays Chloe only had one facial expression, like her stomach hurts or something. At least she showed a little more in this episode.
Tom Ellis. That man can sing me to sleep every night. Such a lovely voice. I loved the montage with him and Maze over his and Ella’s song.

Great season. Can’t wait for S6.
Agree, great season. I also loved the musical episode, and as a general rule, I can't stand musical episodes.
Your Dan question is a good one. From what I've read, this was supposed to be the final season, and they wanted to go out with some emotional bangs, and Dan's death was one of them. Lucifer becoming God was another. They were literally filming the final episode when Netflix said, "How 'bout one more season?". Who could say no to that?!?
They decided the final episode was mostly okay as-is, and just made a few tweaks to lead into a "really final this time" Season Six. Ten more episodes. And they've said we will get more "Dan story" in S6. They were obviously vague, but alluded to not bringing him back as alive, but seeing his story wherever he is (up or down).
The good news is, the final season is already in the can. They went ahead and started filming right away, since everyone was together. It will be released next year.
PS: Removed the spoiler tags. The show has been out over a week.
The second half of season 5 is laugh out loud funny. 'You lost your powers while you were busy drinking a GULPEE''.
Dan pouting at his desk like a toddler. I can't remember all the moments I was howling.
God and Lucifer in therapy together.
I haven't finished but I stayed up too late watching!
