The Stephen King book has been made into a movie - airs Aug. 9 on the Audience channel. I liked the series of books, we'll see how badly they mangle the movie.

Just a point of clarification it is a tv series rather than a movie. Season 1 is 10 episodes

Hopefully it is not done as badly as "Under the Dome" was.

I have never heard of "the Audience Channel."

Who named that? The same people who came up with "The Thirsty Drink" or "The Hungry Food?"

Technically it is just called "Audience". It was once Directv's (Now AT&T) preview network and then rebranded into "The 101" (guess what channel number it was). Eventually Directv turned it into their own network for their original content. It became "The Audience Network" and now just "Audience". For what it's worth their original content is usually pretty good.

Not having DirecTV, I've never heard of it. I liked the book MR. MERCEDES, so I guess I'll wait for the DVDs on this show. Looks like it has a good cast.

Thanks for the date; I can program it to my DVR probably 7-27. U-Verse channel 114

The one thing is, if they DO stick to the book, the "drive down" scene is going to be total bloody mayhem! And Audience can show "R" rated programming, so the blood will flow for sure.

Should be interesting - thanks for letting us know! I've only read the first book, but plan to read the rest, and it should translate well into a show. I only do streaming TV now, so will have to get creative to view it.
