Bob: Are you afraid to be seen with a white guy?

Abishola: Yes. Goodbye.

This exchange actually happened with my grandmother and a white guy who was interested in her back in the 70's. She and I were close and she shared lots of great stories and life lessons with me.

The aunt and uncle following Bob and making plans to move into his house.

Love this show.

Also, the woman who plays Abishola's friend Kemi is named Gina Yashere who is a writer as well as co-creator of the show. She had to audition for the part.

Abishola is great - I love her. The title of last night's episode was funny in itself; when Bob asked Abishola if she had any hobbies: "Nigerians Don't Do Useless Things".

And then when she got back to work and the co-worker says "seems like you found your balls."

I soo wish my grandmother were alive to watch this. She would love it.

I first became aware of her on Last Comic Standing many years ago. Very funny, smart woman.

Bob Thompson, a professor of Radio, TV, and Media at Syracuse appears on a local NPR show weekly. He was pleasantly surprised by this show.

I remember that MASH didn't allow a laugh track in the OR scenes. When the laughing started over the just pronounced dead body I could only shake my head.

Um what are you talking about? This isnt about MASH, a show that I love. And I've seen those episodes a hundred times - there was never a laugh track over a deceased body. Wires crossed dude.
