One of my favorite scenes....for some reason they are all out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, and Jethro asks Jed, "Uncle Jed, ain'tcha gonna leave the waiter a tip?" Jed gets the waiter to lean down to his ear and says, "Plantcha corn early." LOL
enjoyed the show myself growing up.. but it was Tn the Clampett;s were from. Did some research on the shows history.. Interesting tibits here: The Beverly Hillbillies: Striking Nielsen Gold

This article is not factual Moderator cut: comment . The Clampetts did NOT live in TN when they struck oil. They lived in the Ozarks.

Well, what I want to know is how a bunch of hillbillies with nothin' but a broken-down old truck managed to travel from Bugtussle, TN to Eureky Springs, Arkansas, just to go to a picture show.
Ok the episode called "getting settled" (as it is named on YouTube), mentions that Jethro went to school in Oxford, there is an Oxford Arkansas, it's in Northern Arkansas. I did find an Oxford Missouri, but it is NOT in the ozarks of MO, or anywhere close, so I wouldn't think it MO. I did not find an Oxford in TN. Now, map quest shows the Oxford Arkansas is about 3 hours to the east of Eureka Springs. So my guess would again be the Ozarks of Arkansas as being the likely first location of this bunch.
