95% of what comes out of Archie mouth is funny which is why the show is so addicting and fun to watch.

Anyone been watching this classic TV show on Antenna TV?
I catch an episode here and there when I can. I also still enjoy The Jefferson's, which of course is a spinoff from All in the family.

All in the Family was cutting edge in its day. It's very dated and you probably need to have been a fan back then to enjoy it now.

We used to watch it when I was growing up and before it jumped the shark, but I can't give it more than a couple of minutes now when I surf past it.

The show really didn't jump the shark until the last season since there was no more Mike and Gloria

As other posters said, I was a teenager when it came on the air, so I related more to Mike and Gloria's point of view. The arguments between Meathead and Archie sounded just like the ones betwen my father and me. As time has passed, Archie sometimes seems to make more sense than he used to.

I think my favorite moment was the Sammy Davis, Jr. show. I read somewhere that he was a big fan of the show and asked to be on it. They inserted some lines in one show about Archie earning extra money driving a taxi on Sundays in order to set up the episode where Sammy left his briefcase in Archie's cab.

Anything on TV 40 years ago was better than the crap that is on today.
And "All in the Family" was one of my favorites.
Even the worst then was better than the so called best now.

I have to admit that I had tears in my eyes when I watched that episode with just Archie. I had forgotten how poignant he could be.

He always seemed to have such a residue of sadness, though, especially during his last show (the one where he was a sheriff) perhaps because of all of his problems with his son. He never recovered from that & he died when he was relatively young.

I totally agree...I was a teenager during ALL IN THE FAMILY's run. Today we've got MODERN FAMILY......IMHO...rubbish.

I loved the scenes between Archie and Cousin Maude>>>>>

Although I was a kid when it was on I loved the show. One of the things that I took away from the show growing up was to make sure that I got an education. I knew I didn't want to wind up being an Edith to an Archie.
