My partner and I have found that we really prefer dvd box sets, no adverts, no waiting until next week to find out what happens. The problem is that we are running out of options. We have only lived in the US for 5 years so I know there must be tons of series that we are not aware of. This is why we are asking for your help...

Shows we have watched and enjoyed - 24, Alias, Prison Break, Heroes, Lost, The Unit.

Are there any others that you would recommend, old or new it doesn't matter.

Thanks

I don't watch any of these but people seem to enjoy:

The Sopranos
The Office
Pushing Daisies
The Tudors
Mad Men

A lot of the HBO series seem to be popular....

CSI, Vegas is my preference but there are others
Stargate SG-1, if you are a scifi fan
Eureka, another scifi
Burn Notice
Monk
House MD
Bones

Many more but this should get you started Googling and maybe checking an episode or two out on Hulu.

I would recommend West Wing. It was cancelled a few years ago, but would be great to watch uninterrupted! also, Eli Stone, they are just wrapping up the last episodes on tv now. a fun show would be las vegas. cancelled a couple of years ago.

Oh and Firefly is a must if you are a scifi, or western, fan. Heck even if you aren't, lol.

The Shield is absolutely compelling. Seven seasons worth of gripping TV.

You could check out:
Party of Five
Jericho
The Waltons
Rescue Me
Deadliest Catch

I could go on and on! My husband asked me why I'm getting so many box sets and I told him they're for our retirement...we won't need cable tv. He just pats me on the head and sends me on my way!
