A record breaking 7,000 people gathered the red brick streets of Downtown Tyler Saturday night on The Square to watch award winning country music singers Miranda Lambert & fiance Blake Shelton raise money for the Humane Society of East Texas to prevent the needless killing of innocent animals at shelters.

Miranda was born in Tyler & raised in the nearby small East Texas town of Lindale where she rose to country music fame over a decade ago.

Yes sir-ee!

5,000 were expected. 7,000 showed up breaking a record never before seen in Downtown Tyler.

Video footage I provided was shot by an amateur who obviously only showed what was up on the projection screen. One of the $25 ticket holders no doubt. VIP was $60.00

Everything went off smooth as glass & ended with a bang, including all the lighting I specifically installed for the concert.

Not exactly sure how much money was raised for the shelters, but it had to of been well over $200,000.

$25 per ticket (not including VIP at $60) x 7,000 people = $175,000 alone.

That doesn't even include vendor tents & alcohol sales.

All proceeds went 100% towards saving animals.

*Note: Cameras & audio recorders were strictly off limits at this event & were checked for at the gates. Only local news & radio stations were allowed to have them.

That is wonderful. I feel terrible about the way unwanted animals have to live and die.

Me too. Glad to see Tyler is stepping in with a fundraiser. Hope other cities follow it.

No, it's impressive. I misread your post and was wondering was the 7,000 the record breaking number or something else.
