According to the state's site one of the req. to qualify for EB is "• Individuals must have had 20 base weeks of work (earning a minimum of $143 in 2009 and $145 in 2010 and 2011) or earned 40 times their weekly benefit rate on their UI claim." I was hoping that some one could explain/clarify this. Does this mean that if I have not worked since 2009, that I must have collected at least 40 weeks of unemployment? Thanks!
If your original claim was based on earnings of at least 40 times your weekly benefit rate, you are qualified for EB.
Unemployment benefits are NOT earnings. New and existing claims and eligibility for EUC tiers and EB are based on wages earned - not employment benefits paid.
You are on an existing claim going back to 2009. Your EB will be based on that.
