I got a letter saying my EUC had been extended by 3,277, I got my reg check last week. A few days later I recived another letter saying, "you do not qualify for UI benifits because no benefit year can be established. It also says that they will now try and claim useing an alternate base period and keep fileing while eligibility is pending. So i filed my weekly claim to day like always and it says.....
Payment has not been made for this week.
My Claim Information:

You do not meet the minimum wage requirements
to qualify for benefits on your current claim.

Refer to the section in your handbook about Computing Benefit Entitlement

I would contact your local UI Office and ask them to help you understand what is going on. How long have you been collecting for and is this your first extension?

to qualify for benefits on your current claim but to keep fileing?

Yes, you had best call or email, to inquire. Did you receive the full 26 weeks on your original claim? What is your claim history, exactly - when did you first claim, what were the benefits, have you worked part time?

It sounds like your claim is exhausted. It is possible, for some reason, you do not have sufficient earnings in your original claim to complete Tier III or for an additional 13 weeks' EB. Keep claiming, however, until this is resolved.

I never, over the past two years, received anything from WI which read insufficient earnings for a new claim. Usually, the letters read we are reviewing your claim, be patient, when they are conducting a quarterly review. During the EB lapse, I continued to claim. When EB was reinstated, WI credited my account within days for 9 weeks past EB. I have since collected the remaining 4 weeks. However, my claim was based on 26 years employment with the same employer.

It may be the online database is not current and has not been updated to reflect all the activity on your claim. It is very common to receive confusing and conflicting messages in every state on unemployment benefit issues.

When you get an answer from WI, let us know what they say.

I know they were doing upgrades to the system the last few days, they said if would be down both online and phone system for 3 days and back up today. Im so scared and confused. I get one letter saying my EUC08 had been increased by 3000+ and then a couple days later a letter saying i dont qualify for a new claim and they will try to use an alternative base and then when i filed today i got that message.

well i can not get threw to unemployment today they are too busy and it says call back when they are not and hangs up??? Dont they send you a letter prior to your benifits running out? Im just so confused why I would get a letter sayin my EUC was increased by 3000 and then a week later saying i can not start a new benifit year because i did not have enough wages but they would try an alternative base period and to keep fileing. I have never recived that message before when i have filed my weekly claim, maybe it has something to do with their system upgrade?

Try calling between 4:30-5. After trying all day many months ago, I got through, finally, around that time.
