(in Oklahoma). I was just wanting to know if anyone knows about that(what I wrote in the subject) or not, and/or if I'll be able to get all of tier 2's weeks or not. I called an unemployment work person to ask if I'd be getting tier 2 at all or not and he said that I would be. He also said something about me receiving a letter in December or mid-December about unemployment or such. I asked about what help is available and so forth for after my claim is over if I still hadn't gotten hired anywhere and he said something about reopening(a claim) one or such. Does anyone know anything about a December or mid-December letter? I was really just wanting to know my first question above's answer(about tier 2), the other details were just in case they can help or anything. Thank-you for your time, I really appreciate it.

Yes, based on information provided in your post, you will be able to exhaust 14 weeks Tier 2 benefits into 2012.

At your bye you need to recertify. In most states, this requires you call them. Some states automatically go through the process of filing for a new claim for you, which is denied based on insufficient earnings, and then reopen your old claim and continue to pay the remaining tier benefits on the old claim.

The December letter will tell Oklahoma claimants that there will be no further unemployment benefits paid beyond the EUC tier they are collecting at the end of the year as the EUC legislation expires December 31, 2011.

Oklahoma is a low unemployment state at under 6%. Even if Congress extends the unemployment legislation, all benefits for Oklahoma claimants end with Tier 2.

Okay, thank-you so much. That all really helps. I've been reading about all of this stuff all morning and I got some of what you said that way: ). Thanks again, I really appreciate all of that, and your time.

I hope Oklahoma handles recertification better than South Carolina does. We missed 5 weeks of checks waiting for everything to work through the system.
