Hello, I was recently laid off on 8/13 and drew unemployment for two weeks prior to starting a new job. The new job laid me off on 11/13.

How long is the most I could draw unemployment? I have been looking for new jobs but not much is posted. I am afraid of unemployment running out before I find a job.

Maximum is 26 weeks, depending on the size of your claim. Here is info on MD benefits:

My amount was in the $9k range and I get $425 a week. That is like 21-23 weeks so I guess the two weeks in August are counted.

What happens f I cannot find another job in this time frame?

If Congress does not extend benefits, you will need to contact MD social services for food, cash, energy assistance.

If Congress extends benefits in the next couple of months, chances are you might have another 14-28 weeks - maybe. There is no way of knowing at this time what Congress will do, when, or in what form.
