I'm in michigan, and I've been claming since 12/24, but since then, they system says "you cannot claim until after 1/16/12", then it says today "you cannot claim until after 1/29/12"??
The wording they use is "you cannot certify until after 1/16/12," then today it says, "you cannot certify until after 1/29/12" this is for the federal tier I benefits
My first state payment was on 7/20/2011 I claimed on 6/26/2011. I'm just starting to collect tier I. I attempted to claim because the first message said to claim on 1/16/2012 then it changed to 1/29/2012. And I don't see why I'd have to wait over a month to collect euc tier I benefits, that doesn't make any sense.
You were instructed not to claim before 1/16. That is tomorrow. Why did you claim yesterday on January 14th?
Computers follow logic. Your claim preceded the date in the computer for your claim and may have triggered a flag in the program.
You may need to call MI on Tuesday or Wednesday if you don't get your money to have them manually override this claim.
Fwiw, in some states, it does take a couple of weeks to get Tier 1 going, as the states need to do a monetary reevaluation. The 1/16 date sounds like that was done.
Oh, brother. Not only is too early in the day (for me), I can't see straight, either. Could have sworn my computer said date is 1/15. My apologies.
It's possible the after 1/16 is the operative word, in which case they should say claim no earlier than 1/17. Also, today is a holiday. This is a computer glitch connected to that, I think. You may need to call MI if you don't get your money in the next day or so.
