I am very confused on how the eligibility is figured out for an unemployment extension in California. My benefits are very close to being exhausted, so I am trying to figure out if I will be able to get an extension. So here is a little info on my claim, any information helps! I am currently getting $159 a week, my total wages were $5,549.70, My highest quarter earnings were $4115, my maximum benefit amount was $2775. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me figure out if I will be able to get an extension. Thank you!
In California, if your wages are not based on 20 weeks work, which it appears they are not, you need to meet either one of these tests:
Total wages on which claim is based must equal 40x weekly benefit - in your case $6,360 (40x$159). Since your total wages are $5,549.70, you do not pass that test.
Or,
Total wages must equal 1.5x your high quarter wages - in your case $6,172 (1.5x$4,115). Since your total wages are $5,549.70, you do not pass that test, either.
Based on the information you've provided, your claim would not qualify for EUC benefits.

Have you read the posts #1 or #2 of this thread?
Before anyone can tell you for sure, you need to provide your
original monetary determination or number of weeks you've been collecting,
weekly benefit
quarters/$$ amounts used to establish your claim
Also, if this is not your first claim, provide your claim history, dates, payments received, any EUC collected and for how long.
