I owe unemployment 14000.00 in Ca. I was penalized for 13 weeks, after the 13 weeks can they indefinitely intercept all my unemployment benefits, and if so how can I apply for a hardship?
If you didn't pay back the $14000, then yes, they can keep taking your future UI benefits for quite a while. The time to have applied for hardship was at the time the overpayment was first discovered. To have an amount that large, I think it's probably a fraud overpayment, and those you can't get waivers for.
