Was wondering if anyone can help me out....
I have been unemployed for about 2 months, a few weeks ago I finally filed for unemployment, this week I received some of the paper work.

My last job I was notified "my assignment ended" and was given no other reason.

It did not tell me if I was approved or denied, it did not tell me I had to do a phone interview, it did not say what my estimated weekly claim would be.

I got the forms asking if I had looked for work, etc and filled them out, what's the next step? I have never been unemployed this long before

Thank you

(I live in California)

You wait and keep watching your mailbox. An "assignment ended" is not a sure fire ticket to UI benefits.

Is the first time you are about to ever collect in your life? It's been a solid three weeks, you should have gotten something by now. Sign up for webcert so that you check the status of things.
