Sometimes the states begin to pay very early on if they've been unable to contact employer. If employer later responds negatively thereafter, then payments are suspended pending an investigation and/or appeal and a potential reversal. Many variables can affect whether you go to appeal or just another review.
Hi. I was asking because I still don't have a decision but I have been getting payments ( by the grace of God) before & after my interview although everything I've read & everyone I've asked including several different state claimant reps from the 800 # has said I wouldn't.
Anyway a friend of a friend is now going through a similar situation and has not been receiving payments. I just want to try to help her & anyone else with a little advice on the subject because it's really nerve wrecking for people like myself who haven't dealt with unemployment since the 90's.....
Thank you for your reply to the initial question
You may have been laid off, employer may have responded the same. If your friend's situation is not identical to yours in reason for discharge, employer response, any prior notifications employer gave to IL on layoffs, what both of you stated on your applications when you applied, what both of you said in your interview, there is no reason to expect your friend to experience what you have.
