Hello,

I am a manager at a restaurant in Illinois. We recently terminated an employee. He only worked one day a week for the past 3 months. Prior to that he worked more often so he did have more wages. He also earned tips during this time because he worked as a server.

We already know he has a full-time job elsewhere that he has been working for some years. Would he still be able to collect unemployment for loss of wages considering he still has the full-time job to fall back on? Also, if he is awarded benefits, would his tips be used to calculate what he receives?

Thanks

With a full time job I doubt he would qualify.
