I found new full time work and I want to claim for the first week of employment since it was a short week of training. I earned less than my weekly payout. Will my new employer be contacted about this when I list them on the claim form? They wont be responsible for my claim, but my old emplower would, correct?

Whether they do or not, you can't stop the UI people.

If you're eligible for a partial UI payment, get your money. If being contacted about a benefit that you're rightfully entitled to causes your employer to make trouble for you, then you do NOT want to be working for these people.

Under most state rules, not at this time. Every employer knows or should know that every hire is a potential UI claim in the future.

It's not your problem.

All you need to do is follow the rules, and get what you are entitled to. If you don't get the money when you have the chance, you're not going to be able to say later, "I forfeited my benefits to make things better for you. You should reward me for that." They won't.
