I have the exact same error where on the homepage it says status is Duplicate. On the claim history page, it says "Duplicate" for Paper method, but it says "Cancelled" for the UI Online method. Does anyone know what this means or what I can do?
I know this post is old. I am posting on 4/25/2020 during the COVID-19 lay-offs. I can't reach anyone at EDD on the phone.
Mine says the same exact thing after I certified sunday night on 4/26/2020 and the next day it showed "duplicate" for paper method and "cancelled" for UI online method for weeks 4/11 and 4/18. Have you found out what this means? I was able to speak to someone today but they just answer general EDD questions, they don't have actual access to claimant's accounts. She said it might say "cancelled" because EDD is certifying automatically up to May 9th so it wasn't necessary for me to certify myself. Let me know if you were able to find out other info though!

Thanks for the info. I have been calling repeatedly and have not been able to get through. I am actually on hold as we speak, but my expectations are low because I called the other and was told they can't actually view my account. I don't know if this means that the payment in question will get canceled. People are running out of money and delaying payments is bad news for most of us who have bills to pay.
If anyone learns anything please keep us up to date! Or if anyone finally receives payment!
I got the same message regarding “cancelled” and “duplicate” even though I didn’t send anything in the mail. Anyone have updates on this?

I called the other number EDD has listed during the Covid-19 pandemic and they couldn’t help. They said they don’t have access to the accounts.

hi! I got this issue rectified yesterday. On sunday I called the 833-978-2511 number and spoke to someone after waiting for 30 minutes. She had access to my account but a specialist/manager has to be the one that can manually fix anything. She put in a request for someone to call me and first thing monday morning I got a call from a specialist at EDD. She asked if I had sent my certification by paper, which I 100% did not but that's why it says "duplicate". So within 5 minutes she changed my UI Online method to "paid" instead of canceled. To get this fixed quickly, the best thing you can do is to keep calling to speak to someone.
Don't even try to send a message from your EDD account. She said they've just started responding to messages sent from the beginning of April.

awesome info. so we're still able to call that 833-978-2511 and possibly ask to speak to a specialist when getting to someone on the phone to help with our claim? I just want an update if they received my identity information that i sent about 2-3 weeks ago.

That's the number that's available 7 days/week from 8am-8pm. Try calling at odd hours. I probably got through so quickly because I called on a Sunday morning. They couldn't transfer me to a specialist right away to fix the issues, otherwise, I would've been on hold for hours and hours. That's why she put in a request for a specialist to call back, which they did the following morning. Hope this helps!
If you guys are worried about it, because you’re thinking you haven’t received your money, I would check your BOA EDD ACCOUNnt. I was freaking out about this same issue, but checked my BANK of AMERICA EDD card and the money was there. I think their system is behind
It says on the EDD website that we’ll be getting paid out through middle of May without having to certify. But if you did earn money during the week, to send them a message. So the fact that it says Cancelled and Duplicate, you suggest to still call in and make sure it’s changed to Paid, correct? I don’t want to wait for the payment and it’ll never come through because of that.

I have the Duplicated message for week ending 05/02/20 and 05/09/20, and it shows in the claim history/details:Not Applicable Paper Duplicate (which I didn't do it), then Paid. But I didn't get any payment!!! and it shows a confirmation number
Please let me know if you get you payment after they fixed.
