The problem is that if you go more then a certain period of time (believe it is 45 or 60 days) without insurance, any condition you have had treatment for in the past OR that you develop while uninsured your future insurance policy has the right not to cover. Additionally if you get diagnosed with something in the future that they think you had or developed while uninsured you may have a problem. Its not right however, forgoing COBRA coverage is not a luxury. You might be better off not paying your mortgage or rent then dropping Cobra which is a shame.

Please show me a family plan that is less than $400/month. Heck even the ones that don't cover chemo cost more than that!
