it does still work.
Me, too. Was on hold less than 10 minutes, and they took care of my question.

This phone number worked perfectly and I was on hold for 6 minutes! 1-800-300-5616. However, I do not know for sure if pushing the buttons 130 after they say "Welcome to EDD" truly made a difference, you still have to choose your option and wait for them to say push the # bottom to speak to a customer rep.
I have requested a supervisor and the person who did my brother's interview was super rude as she didn't listen to the details of the information and she got everything mixed up so she rudely put in the incorrect information and he was denied benefits. When we called her back to try to explain she became hostile. Her name is "Lucille" at phone number (510) 622-1544 and boy is she rude! Poor listening skills! She was suppose to get us a supervisor with again a very unpleasant conversation and she did not...when we finally was told by her that we would get one, we got a voice mail and NEVER a phone call back! I wrote a letter and it has been over three weeks and still no response back! This system needs immense improvement!
It isn't the fact that unemployment has gone down, it is the fact that the interviewers are not always doing their jobs correctly therefore, those who lost their jobs beyond their control, can not get these deserved benefits to help them get through this these tough times in order to find new employment. They just give up when they are denied as the process is so difficult. Now we have to do an appeals...and face a judge! If only Lucille would have taken the time to listen and to do her job properly we wouldn't have to drag this on and on...
To get someone to talk to you, follow these steps:
1) Call 1 (800) 300-5616.
2) Choose language preferred by pressing 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.
3) Choose the option "To update your UI claim or for other information ...." by pressing 6.
A new line of options will be presented.
4) Choose "To update information in your UI claim... or to Speak with a representative" by pressing 7.
5) Choose "For all other questions" by pressing 3.
6) Enter your nine digit social security number 123456789.
7) The automated system will read back to you the number you entered.
8) If the number is correct, proceed by pressing 1, if not, press 2 and re-enter the correct number.
9) If the system is busy (i.e. all lines occupied, too many callers, etc.), the automated system will tell you the wait time. If the wait time is long, the system will give you the option to "Get a call back" by pressing 1, or to "Remain on the line" by pressing 3. Make a choice and enter the correct number.

He gave me the direct number to call the interviewers line at (909)383-4663. After speaking with my "scheduled" interviewer, she gave me their fax number (909)383-4393 necessary documents to continue with my claim.
This is an interviewer in Southern California, sometimes she answers, sometimes she does not, her name is Caroline: 714.676.9696. Its a direct line, hope this helps. Please post if this helps or not.
