Also, is sprawl just a negative interpretation of 'high growth'?

Has anyone seen a rating or map?
I did a search of the forums = nothing.

Thanks.

I can vouch that Phoenix seemed bad...it took us two HOURS to drive *into* the city.

Sheesh.

I know everyone loves to pick on LA for this topic but at least its DENSE sprawl, which is more functional and makes public transit more viable compared to the low density sprawl found in most metro areas. Any large metro area will have sprawl to some extent. Sunbelt cities seem to be like the poster child for sprawl, but older northern cities have it as well. Detroit, Chicago, DC Metro, NYC Metro, etc.. they all have far reaching sprawling suburbs.

yeah i guess a definition of sprawl may be in order.

Urban Sprawl = "Urban sprawl, also known as suburban sprawl, is the spreading of a city and its suburbs over rural land at the fringe of an urban area. [1] Residents of sprawling neighborhoods tend to live in single-family homes and commute by automobile to work. Low population density is an indicator of sprawl. "

No picking on LA but just driving from Long Beach to the 5 is evidence enough of expansive urban sprawl.
