We are seriously considering moving to Park City for the great skiing/active lifestyle we have been missing. As Park City is very expensive we are trying to find a family-friendly community as close to the slopes as possible. From all of our research the housing appears to be either Million-dollar homes or 1970's era housing. Any suggestions on neighboring areas with more modern homes under $500,000? Preferably commutable to SLC for work considerations. Thanks in advance!

I assume you want a single family home with a yard and the ability to keep pets, yes?

Agressive offers could get you Jeremy Ranch for under 500K, also Pinebrook as long as you don't need a home over 2500 square or so. They grow them big in these neighborhoods so smaller homes are harder to find but do exist. Summit Park will have lots of options but keeping the construction on the newer side might pose a challenge, and the winters/driving conditions in S.P. are an acquired taste. All a closer commute to SLC than P.C. proper.

In P.C. you could try the Prospector neighborhood, Silver Summit area, etc. again smaller homes available for under 500K.

Of course the best move you could possibly make would be to buy the older home in the better neighborhood. There is one that is listed on Utah MLS, looks like a very nice log style home in the Park Meadows neighborhood, listed built in 1977, I think th MLS# is 986949, this just one example I stumbled across, there are of course others.

Just my opinion anyway.

This guy nailed it pretty well. I if you are not going to Salt Lake City every day there are some steals to be had in Midway. 81 holes of golf in the Midway area as well. [mod] not allowed [/mod]
