I was involved in a car accident 4 years ago where another vehicle crashed into me but i was found to be at fault.
Long story short the other vehicle sued ICBC and as result ICBC raised my Insurance premiums.
However, the owner of the other car has also sued me personally. I am no longer a resident of BC or Canada even but they keep contacting me and are even telling me they will pay for my travel expenses to appear in court. However, they are refusing to cover my wages and travelling from abroad will cause me to lose more than one day of work and a lot of unnessary stress.
My question is, Can they sue me personally? I have never even heard of anyone suing someone personally when they have insurance. Considering I am not even a resident of BC, am i still obligated to attend? What happens if I don't?
Can someone please help me out and tell me what I should do?

I agree 100%...I think the OP may want to also Contact ICBC directly to find out what is going on and if there is anything they can do in this situation.
