Did they come from the US, from eastern Canada, are you native or did they come directly from a foreign country to BC?

I'm just going to take a stab at it and say 80% of BC's population originally came by way of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

70% of BC's population are descended from Europeans.

10% are from China.

3.2% are aboriginals

All the others are from everywhere else.

My dad was born in Manitoba in 1906. His parents were born in Manitoba, they were homesteaders. Their parents (dad's grandparents) on both sides were immigrants from the Ukraine who came to Canada in the early to mid 1800's and all of their ancestors were from the Ukraine - they were Ukrainian Cossacks.

Mom was born in England in 1907. All of her ancestors were born in England. Dad came to BC right after he got out of the military after WW2. (Yes, he came on a train ). Mom left England after she got out of the British military after WW2 and came by ship to Canada and then went (by train ) to Alberta. Then she met my dad and came by train to BC and they got married and started farming.

.

Are Anglo-BCers mostly from Scotland and northern England or did they come from all over the Isles?
