U-Haul trucks coming from the distance you're from too often end up on a tow-hook. All costs arranging replacement are borne by you. I had a friend go to Calgary from Vancouver and eventually his bill was triple.
The truck broke down, overnight stays in hotels, costs and unloding/reloading run up fast. You've got a LONG, LONG road trip ahead of you, and the weather it turning.
Bulk items add up quickly. Of course if you have "personal favourites" by all means get them here, but moving is a great time to decide what you really want.
