OK it's not news to anyone who lives there, but the findings of thise report
http://swcrpc.org/wp/wp-content/uplo...-16may2012.pdf

made the front page of the local paper. Most of the towns are even considered "ver unaffordable."

interesting, but like you said, not much of a shock to those who live in the area. I'm thankful I bought my house 13 years ago before prices skyrocketed, it's made a world of difference over the years to our financial situation.

No surprise. A lot of the county is in the Dartmouth commutershed, and there are some very affluent people there.

The report is from southern Windsor county, not northern Windsor county.

I live in Windsor County and although, certainly, there are some expensive areas, there are many that are not = still very homes in both rural/country settings as well as in towns and villages.

I guess 'affordable' is relative [smile]...are you referring to housing over something else?

The report consinders both housing and transportation. Since many communities in southern Windsor county have little or no shopping in the way of grocery or retail, residents have no choice but to drive long distances for simple necessities. If you look at housing alone, parts of southern Windsor county are downright cheap. If you factor in gas to get what you need, then these communities are no longer that economical to live in.

It helps to read the report.
