I was just wondering about this. There are no truly huge cities in Vermont, but Montreal is quite massive and populated. Given all the red tape there is with being an American event promoter holding events in Canada, you’d think Vermont, probably Burlington more specifically would be the best alternative. But it doesn’t seem to really happen unless I’m missing something.

I would think there are plenty of Canadians at local events, just not in huge massive crowds. We have a large influx of Canadian mountain bikers who come to Vermont to ride, especially up at Kingdom, but through the Burlington/Stowe area as well (they may go further down south too, not sure). We get a ton of these riders who come for our mountain biking events, and also for our fat biking events in the winter, but also just for weekend trips (there are a lot of Canadian second homeowners in the area).

Obviously our events aren't that big, a few hundred people is the average, but we have a pretty strong network and many regulars from up north.

I go to Vermont to experience traditional America sometimes but not for specific events. Montréalais usually don't leave the island for events outside of it because on the island there are more than enough events and Vermont will hardly be a competitor; and those from the South shore don't go to Anglo-Vermont.

The exchange rate with money does not suit Canadians coming down here in large crowds. Our business was catering to Canadians starting in 2012 when the Dollar was about even. Since then, Canadians pay an extra 30% on average on top of what they pay here in dollars.
