Did anyone else get the new Tomb Raider game yet? I finally got a chance to play it last night and I have to say I'm greatly enjoying it! It doesn't feel like a typical Tomb Raider game. The graphics are very nice and so far the story is intriguing. I'm not too far into it yet, though. My only complaint is that it isn't more open word and so far seems to be very linear and you're forced to take a certain path that you can't venture far from. Still, I think it was a good buy!

I rather play a game that doesn't take the control away from me.

I wonder if it's linear because Square Enix took over publishing? Their games are usually pretty linear. Maybe Square wanted it that way.

Tomb Raider has always been linear,

We've been playing for a couple of days and found a foobar. We got to a location where we couldn't advance the game because we didn't have a bow upgrade. We had to delete one of the saved games so we could go back and start before the error.

Sucked.

We are enjoying the game except Mrs. Tek doesn't like that there is so much more fighting.

Yes, Tomb Raider always has been linear but with a complete reboot like this that feel so much different from other Tomb Raider games, they could have switched it up a bit. I guess they did throw in challenges and hidden tombs. I do enjoy the game and showed it to a couple of my friends over the weekend and they really enjoyed it.

Interesting about running into a dead end. Can't you go back to any camp you've found throughout the game though to replay through an area?

I get what she's saying about the fighting. It's a much darker and more gruesome game than before.

No we couldn't return to a camp because there was no base camp in the area where we were stuck.

The more I play it the less impressed I am. We have now run into a glitch with the maps. They no longer show GPS, relics, etc. It's a known problem reported by a lot of players and as far as I can tell Eidos is doing nothing to fix it.

I saw an article that stated there were a million players the day after release. I have to conclude that Eidos saw all the money ($30 million or so), saw the problem and said, "Screw the customer. We've got their money." In fact the glitch is so widespread that I'm having a hard time believing it didn't show up in beta testing, which means they really didn't make an effort to fix it. Just shoved it out the door for the money.

I got the DE for PS4 and it is fun. I would like if the world was a little more open but the graphics are amazing and it's still a blast.

I think I'm more than halfway through the game, and I never ran through a glitch.

It's free on PS3 right now if you are a playstation plus member. I downloaded it, but haven't started it - kinda hoping they will make the PS4 version free in the upcoming months.
