Overall, this is a FANTASTIC build that I put together last year. Still need to add a quality sound card and maybe new headset. I am not happy with the Sennheiser.
I may be ready for another build soon. One with two or more GPUs, a faster processor and a larger 4k monitor. May give this one to the 7 year old and build a bigger better one. But still, this is a very very very good build I have.
Haha. Well, if something should ever happen to me, just contact my wife. As far as she knows, this is only a $700 - $800 build. Since she doesn use it, she'd sell for $300 - $350.
I could see the post staying here, because it is about gaming...eh.
Anyway I'll let you all have a laugh.
I built the PC back before 2008ish:
Intel Q9550 (over clocked to 3.4 GHZ on stock cooler, this chip has been awesome for how old it is)
6GB of DDR2 ram (don't remember the speed, doesn't matter at this point)
128GB SSD (boot drive, not big enough, lol)
Assorted hard drives for storage
Nvidia 550ti (not terrible; can play most games reasonably well)
Old Vizio 32 inch TV
Logitech MX518
random keyboard
Windows 10
MOTU 8-Pre audio interface (I do some audio recording from time to time)
I want to get into Steam, but really I don't really currently have the time, plus I mostly just play PS4 now.
I have no plans to upgrade, because (knock on wood) this machine runs fine for what I need it for.
Given all the talk about PC gaming here at CD I thought this thread was going to be very popular.
Thats what I thought as well. Was certain that we have a lot of PC gamers here from all the previous posts who would chime in.
I do not consider myself a "PC gamer", but I LOVE Skyrim and wanted to put together a system to run it well and to take advantage of all the mods available. Also was tired of all the teen gamers on Xbox live and thought that "Okay, if I play on Steam, there will be more mature gamers there".
I've become somewhat addicted to watching high-end gaming PC build videos on YouTube. It blows my mind how much passion and money is put in to these things!
